What devices are included in the standard HomePro SmartHouse Technology package?
Every new First Texas Homes, Gallery Custom Homes, and Harwood Homes residence comes equipped with our integrated HomePro SmartHouse Technology package—featuring a centralized smart security and automation control panel, a Wi-Fi programmable smart thermostat, a video doorbell camera with two-way audio and motion alerts, a keyless smart front door deadbolt lock, smart garage door control, and structured wiring infrastructure.
Do I need multiple apps on my phone to control my smart home devices?
No! One of the biggest advantages of the HomePro SmartHouse platform is that it consolidates your front door lock, security system, smart thermostat, garage door opener, and video doorbell into a single, intuitive mobile app on iOS or Android. You can lock doors, adjust temperatures, check live doorbell video, and disarm your system from anywhere.
Can I set up automated scenes and schedules for energy savings and security?
Yes. Using the SmartHouse mobile app or touch panel, you can create custom “leaving home,” “bedtime,” or “vacation” routines that automatically lock your front deadbolt, close the garage door, arm the security system, and adjust your Wi-Fi thermostat—working hand-in-hand with our Energy Efficiency features to reduce wasted electricity.
Can I expand my SmartHouse system with additional smart devices, cameras, or audio later?
Absolutely. The HomePro SmartHouse architecture is built on industry-standard wireless and structured-wiring protocols designed to grow with your family. You can easily add outdoor security cameras, smart lighting dimmers, motorized shades, water-leak sensors, whole-home distributed audio, or dedicated home theater packages.
Do I get to meet with a technology specialist to customize my low-voltage and media options?
Yes! When building from the ground up, you will have a consultation with our partner HomePro Technology alongside your Design Studio selections to plan your TV wall-mount drops, Ethernet data ports, Wi-Fi access point coverage, surround-sound pre-wiring, and security camera locations before drywall is installed.
Is there a required monthly subscription fee to use SmartHouse?
Basic app control and local operation of your included smart devices come with the package. If you choose to activate 24/7 professional central-station alarm monitoring, cellular backup, or expanded cloud video storage, optional monthly service plans are available directly through HomePro—ask your Sales Consultant or HomePro advisor for current plan details.
Which homes and communities include the SmartHouse package?
The SmartHouse Technology package comes standard on all new installs after August 1, 2025 across every First Texas Homes Classic Series, Select Series, Gallery Custom Homes, and Harwood Homes community in Dallas–Fort Worth, including both build-to-order and Quick Move-In Homes.
How is my SmartHouse system tested and demonstrated before I move in?
Your low-voltage wiring and smart hardware are verified during our multi-stage Quality Control inspections and demonstrated during your 2-hour Pre-Closing Home Orientation, and HomePro provides dedicated homeowner onboarding and technical support to help you connect your mobile app and customize your settings at move-in.
